How Nexology Fashion Intelligence works

Nexology Fashion Intelligence connects to your Shopify store and uses fashion-trained AI to power visual recommendations and semantic search. No configuration, no training data, no waiting. Here is what happens.

1. Install and connect

Install Nexology from the Shopify App Store. The app connects to your store and begins reading your product catalogue automatically: titles, descriptions, images, tags, variants, inventory, and collections.

Initial processing takes anywhere from a few minutes for smaller catalogues to a few hours for stores with tens of thousands of products. The Nexology admin shows progress in real time, and recommendations start appearing as soon as products are processed. You do not need to wait for the full catalogue to complete.

Product changes sync automatically. When you add, update, or remove a product, Nexology picks up the change within minutes.

2. AI analyses your products

Two AI models process your catalogue.

Visual AI analyses every product image. It understands colours, patterns, silhouettes, textures, and aesthetic feel. A pink floral midi dress, a rose-toned silk top, a floral pendant, and a blush clutch are recognised as sharing a visual vibe, even though they sit in completely different categories.

Text AI processes your product titles, descriptions, and tags. It understands fashion-specific language and meaning across more than 100 languages, which matters for search, as you will see below.

Both models run automatically when your catalogue is processed. There are no rules to configure, no training data to provide, and no data science skills required.

3. Similar Vibe appears on product pages

The Similar Vibe widget appears on your product detail pages. Shoppers see products that share the aesthetic feel of whatever they are browsing, across your entire catalogue and not just within the same category.

This works as soon as your products are processed. No cold-start period, no purchase history needed. The recommendations are driven by what products look like, not by what other shoppers have bought.

4. Shoppers search with natural language

Nexology's search understands what shoppers mean, not just what they type. Searching for "wedding guest outfit," "casual linen co-ord," or "red leather bag" returns relevant results even when those exact words do not appear in your product data. Typos are handled automatically, so a misspelled search still finds the right products.

The same search works across more than 100 languages without any extra setup on your part. A French shopper searching "robe d'été," a Spanish shopper searching "vestido de verano," and an English shopper searching "summer dress" all find the same relevant products from your single English-language catalogue. No translation apps, no duplicate listings, no additional configuration.

Search is included on every plan. It is not a premium add-on.

5. You see what is happening

The Nexology admin dashboard shows you what shoppers are searching for, which searches return no results, and which recommendations are getting clicks. This gives you direct visibility into how your catalogue is performing as a discovery experience.

6. Built to improve with real data

Visual recommendations work as soon as your catalogue is processed. No purchase history needed. Search relevance improves as we learn how your specific shoppers search. We actively review your store's analytics and tune the system. For our first merchants, this tuning is hands-on and fast, not a support ticket in a queue.
