Merchandising control

Algorithmic product discovery only works when you understand how it works and can shape what it does. Nexology is built to give you that visibility and control.

How it works, not a mystery

Nexology's recommendations are driven by visual AI and semantic text analysis -- not opaque collaborative filtering or black-box behavioural models. You know the approach: products are recommended because they share an aesthetic feel or are semantically relevant to what a shopper is looking for. There is no hidden logic or unexplainable ranking.

Product visibility

Choose which products appear in search results and recommendations. If a product is out of season, being phased out, or simply should not be promoted, you can hide it from discovery without removing it from your Shopify catalogue. This is managed through the Nexology admin dashboard.

Analytics

The analytics dashboard shows you what is actually happening on your store:

  • Top search queries -- what shoppers are searching for.
  • Zero-results queries -- searches that returned no products. These are signals that your catalogue has gaps or that product data needs improving.
  • Click-through rates -- which recommendations and search results shoppers are engaging with.

This data is yours. It gives you direct insight into how product discovery is performing and where the experience could be better.

Why this matters

Fashion merchandising involves judgement that algorithms cannot replace. Brand positioning, seasonal strategy, and editorial vision all influence what should appear where. Nexology is designed to support that judgement -- you control which products are discoverable, and you see the data that tells you whether it is working.

The AI handles the long tail -- the thousands of product combinations you would never configure manually. You focus on the decisions that require human taste.

What is coming next

We are building additional controls based on feedback from founding partners:

  • Synonym management -- define custom search synonyms through the admin UI (the backend is already built; the UI is coming soon).
  • Product pinning and boosting -- pin specific products to the top of recommendations or search results. Boost product categories for seasonal campaigns.
  • Per-recommendation explanations -- see exactly why each product was recommended, with reason codes visible in the admin dashboard.
  • Merchandising rules -- configurable rules that layer on top of algorithmic ranking, so rules take priority where you set them and AI fills in everything else.

If you are a founding partner, your feedback directly shapes which controls we build next.
