Performance is a core design decision, not an afterthought. Nexology is built to provide intelligent product discovery without slowing down your store.

Lightweight by design

The Similar Vibe widget is a Shopify Theme App Extension that adds minimal JavaScript to your storefront. It loads asynchronously after your page content, so it does not block rendering or delay your Largest Contentful Paint.

This is fundamentally different from competitors that inject heavy JavaScript bundles (sometimes 300-500KB) into every page load. Nexology's approach is to keep the client thin: the widget sends a single API call, receives a list of product IDs, and lets Shopify's own infrastructure handle product images and details. Your browser never downloads AI models or recommendation logic.

Core Web Vitals

Your Lighthouse and Core Web Vitals scores should not change when you install Nexology. The widget is designed to complement your existing theme, not compete with it. It respects your theme's layout, loads after critical content, and adds negligible weight to the page.

If you are running other Shopify apps that already impact performance, Nexology will not make it worse. If anything, replacing a heavy recommendation widget with Nexology should improve your scores.

Inventory freshness

Nexology synchronises with your Shopify catalogue via webhooks. When a product is updated or removed, the change is reflected in discovery results. Out-of-stock products are excluded from recommendations and search results, so shoppers only see products they can actually buy.

Infrastructure

Nexology runs on AWS infrastructure in the UK (London region). Product embeddings are stored in a dedicated vector database, and search queries are served via API Gateway and Lambda. The infrastructure scales automatically -- a store with 500 products and a store with 50,000 products both receive fast responses without any configuration on your part.

One-click removal

If you ever want to remove Nexology, it takes 30 seconds. Deactivate the widget in the Shopify theme editor, uninstall the app from your admin, and it is gone. No code to clean up, no theme modifications to revert, no residual scripts on your storefront. This is the benefit of building on Shopify's Theme App Extension framework.
